Snowy Utah Sand Dune Bridals
As a photographer, I have always dreamed about the day I would get to take my best friend’s bridals. I always thought that since we were so close to each other we could plan the perfect day with the perfect location and perfect weather to get the perfect images and cry together as we flipped through the final images. As that day finally came, it was nothing like I had planned for. But as a photographer who grew up in the Pacific Northwest I pride myself on being able to adapt to the weather and truly make the best of it. The day of Hannah and Toran’s bridals it was snowing and raining in the Salt Lake area so with our fingers crossed we decided to drive out to the Little Sahara Sand Dunes in hopes for some more mild weather. To our disappointment, the weather was not any better. It was freezing. It was wet. But it was MAGICAL. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this shoot because these images are some of the dreamiest photos I have ever taken. My favorite part about photographing couples is capturing their genuine excitement and love for each other- regardless if the weather isn’t perfect.
I am still in awe each time I look at these images. And yes, we did cry together as I showed them the final images. The feeling I am able to capture through my lens will never get old and I will never stop feeling it. I am grateful for clients (and friends) that trust me to capture their love perfectly even when the circumstances may not appear perfect.
